1. Why are they called SEVENTEEN if they only have 13 members?

The name SEVENTEEN comes from the idea that 13 members + 3 units + 1 unified team = 17.

2. Do they write all of their songs?

Yes. The vocal unit leader Woozi has producing credits attributed to him on almost all of SEVENTEEN's songs. All of the members are also heavily involved in lyrics-writing.

SEVENTEEN is divided into three subunits: Vocal Unit, Hip-Hop Unit, and Performance Unit. The members in each unit "specialize" in a certain area of performance. The vocal unit consists of the group's main vocalists and sub-vocalists, the hip-hop unit consists of the group's main rappers, and the performance unit consists of the group's main dancers -- who also are in charge of producing the group's choreography. However, it has often been noted that the members are well-rounded in multiple areas of performance and can comfortably interchange between units while still maintaining a high-quality performance.

4. How many leaders are there in SEVENTEEN?

There are 3 leaders in SEVENTEEN, commonly referred to as "leader line". S.Coups (Seungcheol) who is the overall leader of SEVENTEEN as well as the hip-hop unit leader, Woozi (Jihoon) who is the vocal unit leader, and Hoshi (Soonyoung), who is the performance unit leader and main choreographer of the group.

It depends on your preference. Most members are typically referred to by their real names, with the exception of Joshua and Vernon, who have both stated that they prefer being referred to as the aforementioned names.

7. Why is there a ship called "Meanie"?

Meanie refers to the Wonwoo x Mingyu couple, and the name "Meanie" comes from the first season of 17TV, before we knew Wonwoo's name. At that time, Wonwoo was being referred to as "Mr. Beanie", so Beanie + Mingyu = Meanie.

8. Which members can speak English?

Joshua and Vernon are both fluent in English.

9. Who are the foreign members?

Jun and The8 are both Chinese, Vernon is half-Korean half-American, and Joshua was born and raised in America.

10. What is the significance of their rings?

The rings that each member wears on their pinky are symbols of the promise they made as SEVENTEEN. It represents the hardships they went through in order to debut, and serves as a reminder of their everlasting bond. This video explains the concepts of their rings fairly well.

11. What is BooSeokSoon?

BooSeokSoon is SEVENTEEN's first unit, consisting of the three members of SEVENTEEN's "gag unit" - Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi.
The unit debuted in March 2018 with the single "Just Do It".

They're extremely humble and grateful towards their fans. They often apologize for "receiving more than giving" and they push themselves to their limits every day in order to give back to their fans.
